Knowledge Bridge Partners (KBP) exists to help your team and organization do the right things to satisfy business needs or align with your mission. We have found that there are several ways to make that happen effectively, and have built our service offerings around those various approaches.
Product Owner Player/Coach
If your organization does not utilize product ownership currently, either because you are too small, or you just haven’t take then opportunity to grow that capability, or you have a product ownership capability, and need to grow it, you may find the best way to establish and grow a product ownership capability is to bring in some temporary help.
KBP has experienced Product Owners for temporary assignments to get your product ownership capability established, or improved, while at the same time sharing knowledge and experience with the people you foresee practicing product ownership for your organization in the future.
We don’t want to setup camp at your organization, but we don’t want to take all of our knowledge with us when we’re done with the assignment. Therefore, a big key to success of this engagement for us is how much information have we transitioned to those who will determine the right things to do going forward.
Product Ownership Checkup
Sometimes you don’t need an extra person on staff, but you could use an experienced, outside perspective to suggest areas for improvement, as well as point out those bad organization habits that everyone knows about, but no one talks about.
In this engagement, KBP spends quality time with your team or organization (3 – 5 days) to get an understanding of the current state of your organization and its product ownership capability. We’ll talk to everyone doing product ownership, impacting it, or impacted by it. The end result of the site visit is a set of observations about what’s going well, what’s not going so hot (with some suggestions to improve it) and some potential risks. We may invoke a little bit of theory, but it will always influenced by a heavy dose of pragmatism.
Following that engagement, KBP is available for remote advisory sessions to provide a further sounding board for your product ownership challenges. We won’t always necessarily tell you what to do, we certainly won’t do it for you, but we’ll give you some ideas of what we have tried or what others have tried and will always give you a way to think through the issues in a productive manner.
